Second Audi A8, this one 2012 3.0Tdi with 98,000 on the clock. Had a chip tuning box fitted previously and have kept a brim-to-brim check on MPG over the year (45,000 miles). After a fault with the box removed it and noticed drop in power/torque but no difference in MPG. Saw CR Allens FB offer and decided to take the plunge and have a re-map and engine clean. Chris did talk me through the benefits prior to booking it in. Lent a car for the day and collected that evening. First thing noticed how much QUIETER the engine was, like it had been serviced (?). So much smoother acceleration and back up to the power levels with the box (if not better). The flat spots that previously irritated were eliminated. The next two fill-ups (40 gallons in total) over 1,500 miles showed an improvement in MPG from the 40.5 to-date, to 42.5. Taking into account during this short period, bad weather had brought about many accidents and hold-ups on the motorways, I am fully expecting this to be a 8-10% improvement overall. Would FULLY recommend this combination of re-map and clean to anyone wishing to get the best from their diesel.
