I have stayed in a few places this year but none come close to Johns house by the sea. An absolute jem.
We had a great time here, I would say the Lodge is perfect for a getaway with friends, a sociable couple or singles. really liked the relaxed vibe. John was a good host, very friendly and sociable, makes an incredible fire! We stayed in the teepee which was massive (would easily sleep my family of 5) and comfortable- tho as any tent in a heatwave- stuffy in the morning. Facilities were clean and the house is nicely decorated and looked after. Location is great- a little gem in a beautiful setting, such a peaceful place 10 minutes drive out of the hustle and bustle of Brighton so you can have the best of both worlds. My daughters and my self were made to feel uncomfortable and unwelcome on arrival to the point that my youngest asked if we could lock the door so no one could get in .The jacuzzi smelt of mold and there were mens dirty pants next to it. The room was tiny, hot and the stairs up to it were extremely steep and narrow with no landing at the top. When any water was run the pipes sounded like they were going to explode. My daughters bed collapsed with her in it and I had to fix it so she could get some sleep.
Great value for money. Comfortable space for small family. Kind proprietor. The jacuzzi adds a level of relaxation that is wonderful.
